Even though there is similar information in other categories on this website, I get asked so often about “how to” and “how much” that I decided to post this more detailed article. Enjoy! The best way to get started is to eat three bottles of Paula’s Purple Rice powder the first month. This loading phase of three times a day gets the cells recharged faster, and gets most people into the repair and regeneration cycle in the shortest amount of time. I suggest eating it on an empty stomach first thing in the morning, mid-afternoon and right before bed because your body heals even more when you are sleeping.
~Take 1 rounded teaspoon of the powder 3 times a day – or 5 capsules 3 times a day, for at least the first three months.
Switch to twice a day after three months and monitor your progress. If you feel you are not progressing as quickly as you would like, go back to three times a day, or until you reach the desired results. Eventually you can cut back to twice a day, and then one serving a day for maintenance.
Remember this is pure, raw, highly concentrated food …so if you are tired or anxious or craving something, you can always eat more micronized purple rice! You cannot “overdose”!
Because of work schedules, etc., some people divide their three doses up:
- Take one dose in the morning before breakfast
- Take the second dose in the evening after work or before dinner
- Take the third dose right before bed
There is infinite variety of when you can take your purple rice and how, but the main thing to remember is just do it! And remember to drink purified water throughout the day. 🙂
There are good, better and best ways to eat your purple rice. Let me begin with the best way.
If you are eating the powder or opening the capsules … here are a few ways to consume it:
1) Put 1-2 ounces of room temperature or warmer water in a little jar or container with a lid, then add one rounded teaspoon of powder -shake it up until it’s smooth- and drink it in one mouthful. I always add a little more water after the initial “gulp”, shake it up again and drink that down so as not to waste any of this “purple gold”. 🙂
2) Put the powder in a tiny bowl, add a little warm water and stir into a little rice porridge and eat.
3) Put the powder into your mouth or under your tongue, chew it, and drink a glass of water.
You can also sprinkle the powder or open the capsules in your green drinks or smoothies, mix in yogurt or sprinkle it on your salads and veggies. It is better to get this amazing food into your body any way you can! However, when you consume it with water on an empty stomach your cells begin to assimilate the nutrients immediately. When you eat it with food it has to go through the digestive process, so assimilation by your cells may be a bit slower, but that is better than not eating it at all!
If you are swallowing the capsules (five capsules, three times a day) remember, your stomach has to first digest/dissolve the clear gel capsules before it can utilize the powder within, but the purple rice capsules are still just as nourishing as the powder, once the capsule is digested.
What the Rice Does in Your Body
Because it is micronized, this rice powder forms an alpha glucan chain of nutrients that act like a tiny arrow the can pierce the cell wall of any cell, no matter how damaged or insulin resistant, and can transport the super concentrated nutrients (the polysaccharide sugars your cells need for fuel, the polypeptide amino acids you cells need to rebuild healthier new cells, and loads of antioxidants for repair) directly into the cells to fuel the mitochondria (the cell’s battery) to produce ATP energy (the light energy for life) so cells can then reproduce healthier new cells and the body can heal itself! Your body will use it where ever it is most needed and most critical for your overall health.
How Soon Will I Feel It?
You may see some signs that it is working within the first week or two, but not always. Pay attention to subtle changes on the physical, mental and emotional levels. When it is working on internal organs at deep cellular levels you may not feel what is really going on right away. Trust you body to utilize the nutrients where most needed. It takes 90 days for the body to replace nearly all of the cells in the body. In that time, if you have been feeding your cells this high-powered, nutrient-dense food … your body will be reproducing healthier cells and your body will have begun a profound healing process and you should be looking and feeling better over time. Can you imagine how you will look or feel in 6 months….or a year?
It is suggested that you take a close-up photo of at least your face and neck before you begin eating the rice and then take another one every few weeks. You will be able to see the changes sometime even before you feel them. You might also photograph your hair, your hands, and any other part of your body that you are hoping to regenerate. Write a list of the many things you hope to change-and keep a journal of what you are noticing. Some changes are so subtle or gradual that you might not realize it right away. This repair and regeneration process is cumulative. This is not a quick-fix, drug-like masking of symptoms. This is a process of revitalizing damaged cells with essential nutrients.
Please note: A small percentage of people experience detox symptoms as the metabolic wastes, accumulated over the years, are being released from their cells. If you experience detox symptoms, be sure to drink plenty of pure water and take Epsom salt baths to draw out the toxins, and keep taking your purple rice. If you are exercising on a regular basis, continue doing so. And if you feel the need to sleep more before, or even after, that Micronized Purple Rice Energy kicks in, by all means, sleep! Your body repairs even more efficiently while you sleep. Your body “knows” what it is doing. 🙂
